Upload Template on Blogger – Google provides free services for writing online and creating blogs, it is on the Blogger platform. This platform has been used by many online users around the world to write blogs online. And creating a blog on the Blogger platform is very easy and simple. Blogger is a part of the Google Company. So, you only need to have a Google account to be able to access Blogger services. It's very simple, one Google account can be used to access other Google platforms, such as YouTube, Gmail, Blogger, Google Play Store, Google Maps, and others.

The first step you need to take to build a blog is to prepare a responsive and attractive design. If you have a special template, you can upload the template to your Blogger account. You can set the blog preferences according to your wishes. A responsive and simple blog appearance can help attract blog visitors.

What is Blogger Template?

You may often hear the word "template" in blogging terms. In general, a template is a structured collection of files to be used as an initial visual display. Blogger templates have a collection of files that contain a lot of code, such as CSS, Java Script, HTML, and others. The term "template" is more familiarly used on the Blogger platform, although WordPress uses the term "theme". By using a Blogger template, you can adjust the layout, insert text and images, and set the blog's responsive appearance. Use a responsive template so that your blog looks elegant, attractive and better.

How to Upload Templates on Blogger?

If you want, there are many Blogger templates that can be found on the internet. Some templates are free and some are paid. You can download it for free or buy the template. You can choose a Blogger template that is attractive, clean and responsive. Then, you can upload the template to your Blogger account. Here are 2 options for uploading templates on the Blogger platform:

Option 1: Upload the Default Blogger Template

Blogger has prepared several template designs for your blog. You can select those templates on the theme page. However, in my opinion, Blogger's default templates have a very primitive, unattractive and lack of color design. So, to create an attractive appearance, you can edit the appearance and design yourself.

1. Login to your Blogger account

2. Click Theme

3. Select the template display you want

4. Click Apply

By applying the template you choose, it will automatically change the appearance of your blog. You can see it by pressing the “view blog” button in the menu. You can determine whether to use the default Blogger template or upload a new template, like the Blogger tutorial below.

Option 2: Upload a New Blogger Template

Blogger allows users to upload a blogger template (other than the default Blogger template). You need to prepare a blog template file in an area on your PC. Remember, a Blogger template that must be uploaded has the .xml extension ending. Now, you can directly upload the XML template file to the theme page on your Blogger account.

1. Login to your Blogger account

2. Click Theme – Customize – Restore

Upload New Blogger Template

3. Find the Blogger template file, extension ending in .xml

4. Click open and wait for a few seconds.

Apart from that, you can also upload a blogger template in another way. This can be done by copying the template XML file and pasting it in the HTML edit page. This method has the same function as the method I have explained. Both are options for uploading new templates to your Blogger account.

1. Open the xml template file on your PC

2. Select all by pressing CTRL + A, then press CTRL + C to copy file.

3. Login to your Blogger account

4. Click Theme – Customize – Edit HTML

5. Select all the code in the column by pressing CTRL + A, press CTRL + V to paste

6. Wait a few seconds, it's done.

How to Back Up Blogger Templates?

However, for the two options above, I suggest that you backup the template first. This can anticipate if there are errors in the template code that can damage the appearance of your blog, or other errors. Backing up this template should be done before you upload the template. You can use this backup file to restore the previous template.

1. Login to your Blogger account

2. Select Theme - Customize – Backup

3. Click download, the file will be automatically downloaded.

Apart from this method, you can also open the Edit HTML page. Copy all the HML code there, then paste it into the Notepad page. Save the notepad file in an area on your PC.
